TASK DEFINING:
The owner´s request was to change a desolate balcony in an old urban area of Vinohrady into a pleasant relaxation place and to block out the view (from the flat) of the elevator engine room. The whole structure had to be established in such a way that it could be disassembled and its single components could be reused.
SOLUTION:
We agreed on a light wooden basis filled with railing in spots where the view is not nice, and on the contrary we integrated in the vision of the garden (a tree). The raised resting place is used for sitting - a few cushions or seats still remain to be added. Those can be removed easily during bad weather. A stone sculpture makes the whole composition special.
The wooden structure including the stone sculpture can be taken apart easily and can be placed on a similar balcony with only minor adjustments. In May 2011 we tested the shift in practice - the whole composition was moved to Prague 5.
BUDGET:
The cost of the entire contract including window boxes, plants and the stone sculpture did not exceed CZK 40,000.
